Shri Narendra Modi stressed on the need to make the youth a central part of the development and said that Gujarat’s approach towards skill development has been flexible, broad based, inclusive and with a long term vision. He also urged youngsters to communicate with him on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook and share ideas on skill development initiatives among other things.

Shri Narendra Modi talked about the steps taken by the Gujarat Government for development of ITIs. He shared that like medical admissions, the admissions for ITI would happen online. He also talked about increasing 10,000 seats in ITI for youngsters. Shri Modi declared that youngsters who studied in Gujarat’s ITIs are working overseas and that to not only in Gulf countries but also in USA, Canada etc. Shri Modi spoke about the efforts of the state government in creating Skill Development Corporation and the success of the Kaushalya Vardhan Kendras (KVKs) and declared that over 8 lakh people have gained from KVKs. Shri Modi said that the Government would set up a skill university through PPP model in Vadodara.

The Chief Minister stated that due to the collective efforts, over 1,60,000 youngsters have got jobs in the last two years. He also pointed that Gujarat has the lowest unemployment rates in the country.

Stressing on the importance of skill development Shri Modi said that from the richest countries of the world to the poorest countries of the world, they all agree on the importance of skill development. He shared that even President Obama talked about it after getting re-elected. The Chief Minister paid his condolences to all those who lost their lives in the devastating floods of Uttarakhand and urged the youth to support the efforts to help the state of Uttarakhand.

During his speech Shri Modi launched a scathing attack of the Centre for the misuse of the CBI for political purposes. He said that the CBI is now the Congress Bureau of Investigation and that the nation has lost faith in the CBI. He asked the Centre not to show fear of CBI and that the Centre would have to answer the people of India for the same. Shri Modi suggested that instead of spending so much time on politicization of the CBI, the Centre should work on relief work in Uttarakhand and serve those people that are suffering. The Chief Minister affirmed that the fear of the CBI will not affect the development journey of Gujarat.

Labour Minister Shri Saurabh Patel, Sports Minister Shri Ramanlal Vora, Ministers of State Shri Rajnibhai Patel, Shri Pradeepsinh Jadeja and Shri Liladhar Vaghela were present on the occasion.
