Gujarat CM opens 9th Chintan Shibir-2018 at Vadodara, 200 attending 3-day event

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated the 9th Chintan Shibir at Vadodara, the three-day brain storming event is being attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Council of Ministers, nearly 200 IAS officers from the level of the Chief Secretary to Probationers, Senior Secretaries, Collectors and DDOs.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani said that Team Gujarat comprising ministers and administrators and policy makers should adopt collective responsibility, collective decision and new work culture. They should follow the GR in letter and spirit, to implement people’s welfare programmes and projects with honesty and best of capacity, adopting a compassionate attitude in public dealings through transparent means, for self-satisfaction as well as to the satisfaction of the target groups.

He wished the shibir provides an open platform for free group discussion during the following business sessions over the next three days, to deliver good governance to the people, help the state develop by leaps and bounds, to ensure Gujarat stays put in Number One position in most parameters.

While indecision is a drag, he said, the key to good administration is right decision at the right time. When to do something new becomes a habit, it starts delivering fast results. He said the political situation in Gujarat is better than other states, as other states look up to Gujarat. One has to find solutions to even unending problems. If only one leaves the shore will know what waits on the other shore.

Mr. Rupani asked each department to narrow down to minimum ten resolutions and prepare a roadmap to serve particularly the last man in the last mile. He asked the techno savvy younger bureaucrats to adopt more apps for governance.

He asked everybody to join ‘CM Dashboard’, created to collate and classify the database of the state’s various departments, linked to their performance (C.R.).

Chief Secretary J.N. Singh in his detailed presentation on the state’s development during the last two years said that Gujarat has become a growth engine for the country. He wished the present shibir will discuss threadbare the challenges facing the state in urban as well rural development, agriculture, public health, infant and maternal mortality, malnutrition, improving infrastructure facilities and primary education.

Additional Chief Secretary for General Administration Department Sangeeta Singh in her welcome address said how the state under the leadership of a compassionate Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has crossed new milestones in progressive, decisive, transparent and compassionate governance.

SPIPA Director-General Dhananjay Dwivedi proposed a vote of thanks.
